I think there is a huge difference between gambling at a casino, online, etc than your own baseball team as a manager. It's the 8th inning tied up and Pete has money on the game. He can bring in his closer to pitch two innings today but lose him for the next two games, what does he do? He has money on the game and brings him in, and says the hell with the next two games. To say he didn't change the outcomes of games is nuts.

Clemens has affair with 15 year old. </div></div>

Crimes against children are a whole other level than gambling on major league baseball. Rose's name shouldn't even be mentioned in comparison to this.

I'm not a saint nor do I claim to be. Rose is guilty of a lot of things, tax fraud, gambling on a game he was involved, cheating on his wifes, and many more things. Agreed that none of these compare to crimes against kids. The point I was trying to make is that both are big baseball stars who will probably never be in the hall of fame for crimes they have committed. Roses with gambling and taxes and Clemons with steroids and now this.

Try again, that is the problem the real oldtime Red's fans have with this. Rose only bet on his teams to WIN, Forget it, I met him, his life was in the Dayton Daily News every day, everyone in town felt like they knew him. How close have you ever been to him? PS Jordan bet on his golf games at the course, but you wouldn't know that would you? Today's sports suck- but the old guys from Cincy- you ain't got a chance, be good and I'll show you my G Foster MVP Auto ball from 78.

Re: Clemens just reached Pete Rose level

I agree that he only bet on his teams to win but he directly affected the outcomes of other games by how he handled his roster in those games. He comes to the park and knows that the star player for LA is not playing that day he loads up his lineup and bets on the game. Gambling on golf does not compare to betting on MLB Baseball (if your the manager). I have autographed memorabilia from George Foster as well, sat down and talked with the man at a Reds game a few summers ago. As for the Reds, I'll gladly wager that I have forgotten more than you'll ever know about them from any era. Please stop embarrassing yourself.

games arent made to be wagered on

if they were sports betting would be legal all over the country and not just in vegas........and there wouldnt have been a bill passed to try and eliminate online sports gambling in this country

secondly it doesnt matter if he threw any games or not.......when you have somebody who is betting on a game they are directly involved in........it compromises the integrity of the game

Me? Your thing with the teenage girl should leave you RED for years. Don't worry about me , boy. I didn't like Sparky- Bristol built the Big Red Machine. I never liked Marge (Racist) But when you can tell you me you heard the games from the Bristol era-he built the Big Red Machine- then we might talk. But, like I said, unless you are 50, you CAN"T remember the good years, can you? You might have read about them- but I ,I lived them. No, I didn't memorize them. Re: Clemens just reached Pete Rose level

Here's my take on it...everyone wants to call her a child when 40 years ago she would already be married with a kid at 15. I'm not saying it's right, but sometimes the blame doesn't fall in just one place. And one more thing...I love Pete Rose and I don't care what he did. He's famous for his playing skills, not his life skills.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
